KOZHIKODE: Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has nominated three Malayalis as members of the Goa University Syndicate, with terms extending until October 2028. The appointees include Dr. Abdul Salam, former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University and current BJP Minority Morcha National Vice President; Dr. Jaijo Joseph, a permanent resident of Bangalore who serves as Head of the Malayalam Department at Guruvayoorappan College in Kozhikode; and Dr. Srishailam Unnikrishnan, who is joining the syndicate for a second term.

Dr. Abdul Salam, a native of Malappuram, brings extensive experience in higher education administration to the role. Dr. Jaijo Joseph, who previously served as a syndicate member of Bangalore University, is supported by his wife, Jayashree Thomas, who works with the Geological Survey of India. They have three children: Adv. Abhijit, Anoop and Anuja.
