KOZHIKODE: Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has nominated three Malayalees as members of the Goa University Syndicate, with terms extending until October 2028. The nominees include Dr Abdul Salam, former Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University; Jaijo Joseph, a Bangalore-settled Malayali, and Dr Sreesailam Unnikrishnan, the head of the Malayalam department in Guruvayurappan College Kozhikode.

• Dr Abdul Salam, a native of Malappuram, is the current national vice president of BJP Minority Morcha.
• Jaijo Joseph has previously served as a syndicate member of Bangalore University. Jaijo's wife Jayashree Thomas, works with the Geological Survey of India. They have three children: Adv. Abhijit, Anoop and Anuja.
• This is the second time that Dr Sreesailam Unnikrishnan has been nominated as a syndicate member.
