NEW DELHI: Actor Siddique said that he is not a powerful person in the Malayalam film industry and the police is for a media trial against him. Siddique's reference is in the affidavit filed in the Supreme Court against the state government's report in the sexual abuse case.

‘If I get bail in the case, the argument that the victim will not get justice lacks merit. The explanation for the delay in filing the case also does not stand. Despite being a member of the WCC, the complainant did not raise the issue before the Hema Committee. The police are orchestrating a media trial against me. I am not a powerful person in the Malayalam film industry. Has acted main characters in only a few films. Mostly did supporting roles.

The report has been submitted after distorting facts. The police even said things that the complainant did not raise. Fabricating fake stories. In the counter affidavit, Siddique said that he was arraigned without proper investigation.

Siddique had earlier mentioned in the anticipatory bail plea filed in the Supreme Court that he was the victim of the dispute between the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and WCC. The allegation levelled after eight years is baseless. It is unbelievable that the victim did not complain out of fear. When the allegation was raised on social media in 2019, rape was not mentioned. Siddique also alleged that the high court did not consider this.
