THEKKADY: In a shameful incident, two shopkeepers in tourist hotspot Thekkady in Kerala were accused of not allowing an Israeli couple to enter their shop. It is found that the handicraft shop run by two Kashmiri natives barred the Israeli couple from entering inside, only to show solidarity with Palestine Muslims. However, things didn’t go well for the shopkeepers after the couple staged a protest which saw massive support from the locals.
With more locals condemning the shameful conduct, the Kashmiri natives finally had to apologise.
Israeli couple:
“I wanted to buy things for my daughters. I saw this shop and was happy to see the good collections. However, shockingly, the shopkeeper denied us entry after learning about our nationality. We respect every religion. Hindus, Christians and Muslims all are the same as us. This was not what we expected from Indians. We are sure this is not the ideal Indian way and would like to advise the shopkeepers to behave in their revered culture.”
Meanwhile, the other locals also joined the Israelis in support and warned the shopkeepers about the consequences if they continued with such conduct. The couple later thanked the locals for their support and left the place.
