PALAKKAD: A setback for the congress in Palakkad again. Mahila Congress district secretary Krishna Kumari has left the party and joined the CPM. Palakkad Mahila Congress president Sindhu said that she is very happy for Krishna Kumari leaving the congress party.

Sindhu said Krishna Kumari was ousted from the party one-and a half years ago and that she doesn’t cooperate with the party and the organization. ‘Krishna Kumari, who was block president was later elevated to district secretary. Those who want to go, can go, nothing will happen to the organization,’ said Sindhu.

Digital media convener Dr P Sarin expressed displeasure after UDF decided to field Rahul Mamkootathil in the Palakkad by polls. The party did not succumb to his demand of re-examining Rahul’s candidature. This led Sarin to quit the party and soon the CPM came forward supporting Sarin. Youth Congress former state secretary A K Shanib leaving the party had also grabbed headlines.
