THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police will conduct a preliminary investigation into the controversy surrounding EP Jayarajan’s alleged autobiography, without formally filing a case. Kottayam District Police Chief Shahul Hameed has confirmed that the investigation will begin soon, following a directive for a preliminary inquiry.

Jayarajan, a senior CPM leader, filed a complaint with the DGP requesting an investigation. He asserted that the autobiography being circulated is fake, stating that he has neither written an autobiography nor authorized anyone to publish one. According to Jayarajan, forged documents were created under the pretense of an autobiography, which were then used to propagate misinformation. He further alleged that there was a conspiracy behind the spread of this fake news, which coincided with the day of the by-election polling.

The release of this alleged autobiography has sparked controversy, catching both the CPM and the government off guard during a sensitive election period. It has been reported that the contents in circulation include criticisms of the current CPM leadership, claiming that the second Pinarayi government is weaker than the first. The statements reportedly suggest that reforms within the party need to be implemented at every level.
