KANNUR: A minibus carrying a drama troupe overturned killing two women at Kelakam in Kannur. The two dead have been identified as Anjali of Kayamkulam and Jessy Mohan of Karunagappally. Reports said nine people have suffered injuries. The condition of some is critical and they have been admitted in various hospitals of the district.

The accident happened Friday morning at around 4 am. The drama troupe had a programme in Kannur yesterday. The accident happened when they were going for a programme in Bathery today.

The troupe initially tried to enter Wayanad from Kelakam via Nedumpoil pass. However, due to the threat of landslides in the pass, traffic has been banned. The accident happened when they were going to Wayanad via a shortcut. The vehicle lost control and overturned.
