THRISSUR: The three fronts conducted an evaluation soon after the turnout of voters in Chelakkara, as usual. Although all the fronts ensure victory, it is assessed that there will not be a huge majority. This time, there was a bigger inch-by-inch fight than what has happened so far.
The huge majority in the last assembly election gives the LDF confidence that it will win this time too. Another factor is the candidate who is popular among the party workers. The front is confident that when a person whose image has not diminished at all becomes a candidate again, there is no fear in the vote share and majority.
Although there is confidence, the assessment at the final stage was that caution is needed. Therefore, the LDF is a little concerned about whether there will be a huge majority. The review found that the anti-government sentiment and the allegations and crises faced by the CPM front during the election will not affect the guaranteed votes at all. It was assessed that there will be no volatility in the constituency that has been with the front for a long time.
The UDF said the campaign preparations started four months before the election are enough to ensure victory. The post-election review has predicted that UDF candidate Ramya Haridas will win with a comfortable majority. The UDF is also confident that the anti-government sentiment and the newly added votes in the constituency will be in their favour.
The UDF claims that they have added 6,000 of the 9,000 new voters to the voters list. The UDF also claims that they have added 1,044 of the 1,055 new voters in the BJP-dominated Thiruvilwamala panchayat. The assessment is that the presence of women who flocked to the booth on the polling day is in favour of Ramya.
The NDA candidate is confident of winning based on the victory of Suresh Gopi in Thrissur. The same type of activity was witnessed in Chelakkara as well. The NDA assessed that the large number of women casting their votes is in their favour. The BJP claimed that it has a solid 30,000 votes in the constituency and that it will cross 35,000 votes this time.
