SABARIMALA: BSNL has collaborated with the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to ensure connectivity network for devotees visiting Sabarimala. The facility has been provided to use Wi-Fi for half an hour free of cost on one SIM. The project was inaugurated by Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan at a function held in Pampa. Devaswom Board President P S Prasanth, BSNL deputy general manager K Jyotish Kumar and JTO Abhilash were present.
BSNL Sabarimala office in-charge S Suresh Kumar said Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up at 48 places from Nilakkal to Sannidhanam. The BSNL network has been extensively prepared in collaboration with the Travancore Devaswom Board. Apart from this, BSNL has also set up 4G towers on the Sabarimala route. Various government departments and services in Sabarimala can also be further coordinated through high-speed internet connection.
How to set up BSNL Wi-Fi?
To get BSNL's Wi-Fi service, first turn on the Wi-Fi option on your phone. After this, select the network option BSNL Wi-Fi (BSNL WiFi) or BSNL PM Wani (bsnlpmwani) shown on the screen. When connecting, type your ten-digit mobile number on the webpage that opens and click Get PIN. If you enter the six-digit PIN number received as an SMS on your phone, you will immediately get BSNL Wi-Fi.
Optical fibre connectivity with speeds of up to 300 Mbps has been deployed in Sabarimala, Pampa and Nilakkal.
BSNL recently launched FTTH roaming facility, which allows users to use the internet using their home connection.
Meantime, devotees have been allowed entry to the Sannidhanam from today afternoon. The temple will open at 4 pm today.
