KANNUR: Anjali, who died in an accident in Kannur, was an actress who had proved her talent in drama troupes like KPAC and Kollam Assisi. Anjali joined Deva Communications three years ago after marriage. The accident happened when she went after leaving her three-year-old son with her husband. Anjali's husband and family have left to Kannur after hearing the news of the accident. Two people died when the mini bus carrying the drama troupe overturned at Malayampadi in Kannur.
Anjali re-located to Kayamkulam after her marriage with theatre artist Ullas. The two have acted in many drama troupes including KPAC. The people there said that she was one of the best actresses. The panchayat member said that she was the breadwinner of the family and they have a lot of financial difficulties. Anjali goes for acting after hiding all this.
Anjali, who reached Kannur by train yesterday after her performance, died in an accident while travelling by bus from there. Meantime, locals said the cause of the accident was for travelling guided by Google Maps. The bus took the short cut route shown on the map. Malayampadi is a narrow road where it is not easy for large buses to go. There are a lot of turns. The locals said travelling without knowing this led to the accident.
Many people were injured in the accident that led to the death of Anjali (32) from Muthukulam, Kayamkulam, and Jessy Mohan from Thevalakkara, Karunagappally. The main actresses of the drama troupes have died. Unni, Umesh, Suresh, Shibu from Kayamkulam, Vijayakumar and Bindu from Ernakulam, Chellappan from Kalluvathukkal, Shyam from Kollam, and Subhash from Athirungal are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kannur. The condition of Umesh is critical.
