PALAKKAD: LDF candidate in Palakkad, P Sarin, became angry with the media for raising questions regarding double votes. Sarin said that the media is asking questions in a way that even opposition leader VD Satheesan does not think about and there should be some shame while doing journalism. He was speaking at a press conference convened at his residence along with his wife Dr Soumya Sarin. "A defamation case will be filed against journalists if they ask shameless questions. Journalists are justifying double votes," Sarin alleged.
Meanwhile, Soumya Sarin responded that the allegations levelled against her are baseless. "The allegation of bogus voting has caused me a lot of distress. I have been paying taxes for the past six years for the house in my name. My name was included in the voters' list in the same place. I can't keep quiet after hearing the allegation that I am a fake voter. Whatever the politics, it is unacceptable to insult people who are not involved in it without any courtesy," Soumya said.
Soumya, who showed the title deed of the house, said that all documents are there and there are records of the payment of tax. "The house is in my name. No need to see me as the candidate's wife. It is enough to see me as a person named Soumya Sarin. "There should be minimum standards in politics. Seeing the wife as the tail of the husband is a reactionary stance. What proof does the opposition leader have that I have not been staying here for six months? We live on the top floor of this house. Who should decide when we should go to Ottapalam and Palakkad? It's up to me to decide where to vote. Who is it that insists that I should not vote in Palakkad?" asked Soumya.
