ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come out in support of CPM leader EP Jayarajan in connection with the autobiography controversy. Blaming the media for the controversy, he said in Alappuzha that the EP has informed the party that there are no such references in the portions written so far and that he did not intend to write such things. The chief minister was speaking after inaugurating the CPM Kanjikuzhi area committee office.
Words of the Chief Minister: "We had doubts whether Jayarajan knew a man named Sarin. Because Sarin had just come into our group. Sarin is a very smart guy. There is no doubt about it. But earlier, Sarin was in another party. So we had doubts as to whether Jayarajan knew Sarin. It was reported that there was something very bad about Sarin in the book. Then I asked Jayarajan if he knew Sarin, Jayarajan replied that he did not know Sarin and that he had not mentioned anything about him in the book. What's this? In what ways are you trying to create controversies?
Apart from the current controversy, the chief minister also spoke about the controversy over EP meeting with BJP leader Prakash Javadekar. "The news of EP meeting Javadekar came to light on the eve of the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting, which took place one-and-a-half years ago, was presented like the events of that day. These controversies came to light on the day of Wayanad and Chelakkara by-elections. It is understood that all this has some objectives," Pinarayi Vijayan said.
