PALAKKAD: Soumya Sarin, wife of independent candidate Dr. P. Sarin, refuted allegations surrounding her husband and described them as baseless during a press conference held yesterday. She dismissed the claims as an attempt to mislead the public and malign their sincerity.

"Dr. Sarin is not someone who says one thing and does another. He has always been consistent in his character, both inside and out," she said. "The allegations questioning our sincerity were deliberately provocative. Those making such claims are well aware of the truth, yet they chose to twist the narrative for their benefit."

Addressing accusations linking them to the double vote controversy, Soumya clarified that there was no merit to these claims. "There was an unnecessary attempt to associate us with the issue, but Sarin will address this directly. It is against his nature to act with duplicity," she added.

Soumya also clarified an incident during the press conference when she briefly stepped out, which had sparked speculation. "I received a phone call and informed Sarin before stepping out. I had taken the necessary documents and left only after explaining my part. To claim otherwise is a manipulation of facts by certain social media circles," she said.

She urged the public to watch the video of the press conference for clarity, reiterating that the allegations were baseless and intended to mislead voters. "This was our press conference. Why would I leave it without reason?" Soumya asked.
