PALAKKAD: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan said it was a 'good decision' from Sandeep Varier to leave BJP. However, the CPM leader said nothing about Varier joining Congress after ditching CPM. There were efforts from CPM to bring Sandeep to the red camp but Saturday saw a political move that nobody anticipated.

“It is not CPM ideology to look into the past political doings of turncoats. Their current stance will be taken into consideration. Kodakara-Karuvannur deal is gibberish from Sandeep, and he is making such rumours as part of his joining Congress.” said M V Govindan.

Meanwhile, Minister MB Rajesh minced no words in his criticism against Varier.

“Only Congress will make efforts to induct a communal villain into their party. This effort from Congress is to help BJP gain a foothold in the Palakkad elections. Two sections are working inside Congress. Ramesh Chennitahala and K Muraleedharan faction is against BJP while V D Satheesan is working day and night for the Sangh Parivar.”
