PALAKKAD: AA Rahim MP said that the Congress party should clarify what message it was sending by accepting Sandeep Varier, who came from the BJP.

"Sandeep Varier is a person known for making hate speeches. He was a person who had adopted an extreme communal stance. While the Left Democratic Front has chosen not to accept such a person, what message is the Congress sending by accepting him?" Rahim asked.

"We don't look at people personally. I am the one who consoled Sandeep when his mother died. We don't view individuals solely through a political lens. The stand taken by AK Balan is his personal stand. Sandeep Varier's case is not similar to that of P Sarin. Congress should clarify what message it is sending by accepting a person like Sandeep into the party," he said.
