PATHANAMTHITTA: The family of Ammu, a nursing student who committed suicide, came forward with more revelations. The family alleged mental harassment from her classmates as the reason for her death. While talking to a media, her father said three of her classmates had annoyed her for no reason and even after leaving from tour coordinator post, they threatened her. Ammu S Sajeev of Thiruvananthapuram, jumped from the top of the hostel building the other day. Ammu was a fourth-year student of Chuttippara SME Nursing College.

'Amma was harassed mentally by her friends. There were differences of opinion between Ammu and three of her classmates when she went for gynecology practice at Alappuzha Medical College, over some minor issues. She was later constantly harassed. As she could not bear the harassment, she shifted to another room in the hostel. An unauthorized search of her bag for a missing book had also upset Ammu.

She complained to the college principal when the problems continued. Ammu did not know that her class teacher chose her as the tour coordinator. The group came with threats despite informing them that she is not coming for the tour,’ alleged her family. The Pathanamthitta police, who registered a case of unnatural death in the incident, will record the statements of her classmates and teachers on Monday. The statements of her parents will be taken separately.
