BHOPAL: Two brothers were arrested for allegedly killing their younger sibling, Anshul Yadav (22), during a heated argument over bringing chicken into their home. The tragic event unfolded on November 9 in Indiranagar, Bairagad.
The accused, Kuldeep and Aman, were reportedly under the influence of alcohol when the crime occurred. According to the police, the altercation began after Anshul brought meat home, which was against the family’s vegetarian beliefs. The dispute escalated, leading the brothers to strangle Anshul with a rope.
Anshul, who lost consciousness, was rushed to the hospital by his mother Anitha and siblings. However, he succumbed to his injuries. Initially, Anita claimed that Anshul had fainted at home but doctors became suspicious after noticing strangulation marks on his neck. They immediately alerted the police.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Anita had attempted to hide the rope to destroy evidence and misled officers with conflicting statements. Further inquiries uncovered a history of frequent arguments among the brothers, who all worked at a shop in Bairagad. The family reportedly disapproved of consuming meat and had issues with substance abuse.
The police have registered a case of involuntary manslaughter against Kuldeep and Aman, along with charges of tampering with evidence against their mother.
