CHENNAI: Just a day after publicly denouncing actor Dhanush, Nayanthara came under a severe cyber attack on Sunday. The hashtag 'Stand with Dhanush' expressing solidarity with the actor is now trending on social media.

The issue was fueled after major actresses joined the bandwagon in their support for Nayanthara. This provoked fans of Dhanush to offer a strong response and unearth the hidden details involved. Dhanush is yet to comment on the issue but his lawyer confirmed that a strong rebuttal is underway.

Nayanthara's wedding documentary has sparked a controversy over the use of scenes from the Dhanush-produced 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan'. The actor sent a notice to Nayanthara asking for compensation of 10 crores for using the three-second footage of the movie in the trailer of her documentary, which is going to start streaming on Netflix from Monday.

Nayanthara’s public opprobrium was news all over the film industry. She critiqued Dhanush for showing ‘dictator’ tendencies while her husband Vignesh Sivan also took the chance to take a jibe at the actor. Actresses Parvathy Thiruvoth, Anupama Parameshwaran, Nazriya Naseem, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Shruti Haasan, Dia Mirza and Shilpa Rao came out in support of Nayanthara.

However now, there is an outpouring of support for Dhanush from some quarters. Some rumours say that the movie ‘NRD’ which was slated to be done under Rs 4 crore budget was completed at a massive Rs 16 crore, only for the inept handling from director Vignesh. Dhanush suffered a loss despite the movie opening to good responses from audiences. Many are now juxtaposing Dhanush claiming money for using 'NRD' movie scenes and Nayanthara claiming money from Netflix for her wedding documentary. This is now widely being spread to show the purported hypocrisy of the actress. It is expected that the actor will offer his response in the coming days to put the controversy to rest.
