ALAPPUZHA: A missing woman in Karunagappally is suspected to have been murdered and buried by her friend. Vijayalakshmi (48), who went missing on November 6, is suspected to have been murdered by her friend. The police are examining the place in Alappuzha where the body is believed to have been buried. Jayachandran has given a statement to the police that she was murdered and buried.
Jayachandran of Ambalapuzha is father of two children. Vijayalakshmi of Karunagappally was a divorcee having two children. The two met at Thottampally Harbor. Reports said the two had financial transactions. Jayachandran has given a statement that he murdered her on suspicion of having a relationship with another person. The police are conducting an investigation based on it.
The police suspected Jayachandran after he dumped her mobile phone in the KSRTC bus after the murder. The phone found in Ernakulam was handed over to the police by the KSRTC conductor. The phone was found to be switched off. She had called Jayachandran the most from this phone. When the mobile phone tower location and call list were checked, the investigation reached to Jayachandran.
Vijayalakshmi had come to Ambalapuzha temple to pray and had gone to Jayachandran's house at Purakkad panchayat in Ambalapuzha. A verbal dispute broke out between the two at this house and he later killed and buried her in a building under construction next to his house. He had also concreted the place where he had buried her. The police, who arrived at the spot with forensic experts, are conducting an investigation.
