PALAKKAD: After a heated campaign filled with political controversies and twists, the Palakkad assembly constituency will go to polls today. Voting will begin at 7 a.m. There are a total of 1,94,706 voters, of which 1,00,290 are women. There are a total of 184 polling stations. Heavy security has been arranged at the problematic booths. The Palakkad by-election, which was initially scheduled to take place on November 13 along with the by-polls in Wayanad and Chelakkara, was postponed due to the Kalpathi Ratholsavam. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
