NEW DELHI: The exit poll results of the assembly elections, which witnessed a fierce fight, have predicted a huge victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Most of the exit polls released so far have predicted that the BJP alliance will come to power in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The post-poll results have predicted that the BJP will wrest power from the ruling JMM in Jharkhand while retaining power in Maharashtra.

In Maharashtra, where there are 288 seats, the ruling Mahayuti (BJP, Shiv Sena Shinde faction and NCP's Ajit Pawar faction) is predicted to win between 175 and 195 seats. 145 seats are required for an absolute majority in Maharashtra. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance comprising the Congress, Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray faction and Sharad Pawar's NCP is expected to win between 85 and 112 seats.

The results released by 'Matrize' predict 150 to 170 seats for the NDA and 110 to 130 seats for the opposition alliance. The results released by 'P-Marq' predict a close fight. According to P-Marq, NDA is likely to get 137-157 seats while the opposition may get 126-146 seats.

The 'Loksi Maratha Rudra' survey has also predicted a close fight. The survey predicts 128 to 142 seats for the NDA and 125 to 140 seats for the opposition alliance, while others are predicted to win 23 seats and become the kingmaker.

The survey predicts a clear majority for the BJP in Jharkhand, where there are 81 seats. According to the survey, the NDA will win between 44 and 53 seats while the India Front will be restricted to 25 to 37 seats. The Matrize survey has predicted up to 47 seats for the NDA in Jharkhand, while the India alliance is likely to win between 25 and 30 seats, according to exit polls.
