KOLLAM: Karunagappally police have registered a case against Sheeja, the mother of a 20-year-old woman, Aishwarya Anil, who went missing from her home in Alappad. The case was filed based on Aishwarya's statement, in which she alleged harassment by her mother as the reason for leaving home. After undergoing counseling, Aishwarya was reunited with her family.

Aishwarya, the daughter of Anil and Sheeja, disappeared on the morning of November 18 from their residence at Marakassery, Kuzhithura. She later traveled to a meditation center in Thrissur. Aishwarya took a train from Karunagappally to Thrissur and completed the journey by bus.

At the time, Aishwarya was pursuing online studies through a private entrance coaching institute. On the night before her disappearance, she had an argument with her mother regarding an online game. The next morning, Sheeja left for work at a private institute in Chavara around 9:30 a.m. When Sheeja tried calling Aishwarya at 10:30 a.m., the calls went unanswered. Concerned, she contacted a neighbor, only to learn that Aishwarya was missing.

A handwritten note left by Aishwarya stated her decision to leave home and clarified she had no intention of self-harm. She left with her mobile phone and tablet, though the phone was switched off around 11 a.m.

Sheeja reported Aishwarya’s disappearance to the Karunagappally police later that evening. Surveillance footage showed Aishwarya heading to the Karunagappally railway station on a two-wheeler. Using this evidence, police traced her to the meditation center in Thrissur.
