THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to appoint a judicial commission to resolve the Munambam Waqf land dispute. A decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting convened by the chief minister today to resolve the issue. Stating that all aspects have been examined in detail, the government also discussed the historical background of the incident, legal aspects and cases in the High Court.
The residents had launched a protest demanding the restoration of revenue rights on the land. The decisive move on the part of the government comes after 43 days of the strike. Meantime, the strike committee said it was disappointed with the government's decision to appoint a judicial commission.
