THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rainfall is expected across the state in the coming hours. A low pressure has strengthened over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to intensify into a low pressure over the South Bay of Bengal by the next day and move towards the Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coast in the next two days. As a result, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted light/moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Kerala for the next five days.
No special warning has been issued to any district today in Kerala.
Meanwhile, Yellow alert has been announced in various districts on Tuesday and Wednesday. The yellow alert is in effect in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts on Tuesday and Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam districts on Wednesday.
There is no ban on fishing in Kerala today while IMD put a ban on fishing in Kerala and Lakshadweep coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
