THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A three-year-old girl, who was injured after falling down in Anganwadi, is in critical condition. Vaiga, daughter of Ratheesh and Sindhu, natives of Maranallur, was seriously injured. The child is currently undergoing treatment at SAT Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The parents complained that the Anganwadi staff were not ready to take the child to the hospital or even provide first aid.

Ratheesh brought his daughter home from the Anganwadi in Maranallur on Thursday evening as usual. She was very tired. After some time, the child started vomiting. Vaiga's twin brother is also studying in the same Anganwadi. It was him who revealed that Vaiga had fallen from the window at the Anganwadi in the afternoon.

When Vaiga's mother examined her, she noticed that the back of Vaiga's head had swelling. The child was then taken to a hospital in Kandala and from there to SAT in Thiruvananthapuram. According to the doctor, the child's spinal cord was seriously injured. There is also internal bleeding in the head.

When the Anganwadi teacher was asked about the incident, she replied that the child had fallen from the chair and she had forgotten to tell the parents. There are a total of six children in the Anganwadi functioning in Maranallur panchayat. There is a teacher and an ayah to take care of them. According to the teacher, the child had fallen, but did not have any health issues at the Anganwadi.
