RANCHI: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren will be sworn in as the chief minister again on the 28th. Hemant Soren was elected as the legislature party leader at the JMM parliamentary party meeting held today. Soren reached Raj Bhavan at 4 pm and met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and informed him that he was resigning from the current cabinet. He also handed over his resignation letter and staked the claim to form a new government.


The swearing-in ceremony is likely to be attended by key leaders of the 'India' front, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

In the 81-member Assembly, the 'India' front, comprising JMM, Congress, RJD and CPI ML, won 56 seats. The Congress, which won 16 seats, has demanded four ministerial berths.
