KANNUR: The police and dog squads reached the spot and are continuing their investigation after a major robbery was reported at a businessman’s house in Valapattanam. The police dog, which reached the house, sniffed the scent and headed towards the Valapattanam railway tracks. The dog went a long way but did not get any other evidence.

The police have not received any leads about the accused presently. A special investigation team has been formed to investigate. Money and gold were stolen from the locker

in the bedroom of the house. Rs one crore and 300 sovereigns of gold were stolen from the house of Ashraf of Manna in Valapattanam.

The theft was committed when Ashraf and his family were on a trip. It is presently being reported that a three-member gang arrived and carried out the robbery. Ashraf and his family had gone to attend a wedding in Madurai on November 19. The theft came to light when they reached home last night.

The money and gold were stolen from the locker in the bedroom of the house. The thieves entered the house by jumping the wall and breaking the kitchen window. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
