THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thundershowers in Kerala for the next five days. The low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression. The low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression over the south Bay of Bengal.

The deep depression is likely to intensify into a deep depression in the next 24 hours and move towards the Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coast in the next two days. Due to this, the IMD has informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thundershowers in Kerala for the next five days and heavy rain at isolated places on November 26-28.

• Unplug household appliances. Avoid being near electrical appliances during a thunderstorm.

• Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. It is safe to use a mobile phone.

• If the weather is cloudy, avoid children playing in open areas and terraces.

• Do not stand under trees during a thunderstorm. Do not park vehicles under trees.

• Stay inside your vehicle during a thunderstorm. Do not put your hands or feet outside. You will be safe inside the vehicle. Avoid traveling in vehicles such as bicycles, bikes, and tractors during a thunderstorm and seek shelter in a safe building until the thunderstorm ends.

• Do not go to the terrace or yard to get clothes when you see a thunderstorm.
