KOZHIKODE: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl had a narrow escape after a steel pot got stuck on her head while she was playing in the kitchen at her home in Thamarassery Adivaram. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. today, leaving the family and neighbours in a state of panic.
The child, Asa Sahara, daughter of Pulikkal Jamsheed, tried to pull the pot off her head, but all efforts by the family proved unsuccessful. With no other option, Jamsheed rushed his daughter to the Mukkam fire station, seeking assistance.
The fire force team, led by Station Officer M Abdul Gafoor, quickly launched a rescue operation. Using specialized tools such as scissors and cutters, they carefully removed the pot from the child’s head without causing any harm.
The rescue team included Senior Fire Officer N Rajesh and personnel PT Sreejesh, MC Sajith Lal, AS Pradeep, V Saleem, P Niyaz and YP Sharafudheen. Their swift and skilled response ensured the toddler’s safety.
