KOZHIKODE: A mishmash of twists, now unfolding in the Pantheerankavu domestic abuse case has left the officials dazed. Just one and half months after dramatically taking back the complaint filed against her husband, the victim on Tuesday reappeared with bruises, alleging torture from her husband; taking the whole issue back to square one.

In the first complaint, Neema alleged her husband Rahul of strangulating her using a mobile phone charger under the influence of alcohol. He had also accused her of demanding more money and a car as dowry. In her former statement, Neema revealed how Rahul would flare up for her refusal to shower together. A ‘No’ would often result in torture.

The latest episode of torture happened on Sunday.

Rahul became perturbed after finding fault with the improper proportion of tamarind in the fish curry prepared by his wife. This resulted in the beatings. The incident happened on Sunday. Neema said that the torture continued even on the next day.

Neema suffered injuries on her left eye and lips. She was rushed to Kozhikode Medical College and then to the emergency section. After helping her get there, Rahul fled the spot. After being informed by the hospital authorities, the police reached the hospital at night and recorded the woman's statement. As per reports, the woman asked police to help her move to her house in Ernakulam. Neema is not ready to move with a complaint. However, her father reached the spot and confirmed that he would take his daughter to his house, only after registering a complaint with the police.
