KOCHI: The government informed the High Court that security will be tightened at Sabarimala from December 1 to 6. The devaswom bench comprising of Justice Anil K Narendran and Justice S Murali Krishna directed that the report of the Sabarimala chief police coordinator be submitted in a sealed cover in this regard. The security is being beefed up in connection with the Babri Masjid Day on December 6.

The court also directed that devotees should be restricted from shooting videos on their mobile phones in front of thirumuttam and sopanam in Sabarimala, which is a high-security zone. The executive officer should submit a report in this regard tomorrow. Devotees cannot be stopped from bringing phones.

The Devaswom Board has informed that the building vacated by Ayyappa Seva Sangam at Sannidhanam has been cleaned and given to daily wage workers for accommodation. The building at Pamba will be used for free accommodation for temporary staff and pilgrims. The board said it would take a decision this week on Seva Sangh's application to set up stretcher and an oxygen parlour for devotees.
