BENGALURU: Malayali youth Aarav Hanoi, accused in the murder case of Assamese vlogger, has been arrested. Aarav himself called the police informing his willingness to surrender. The police arrived and took him into custody. Reports said he was arrested from other state. The Bengaluru police have left to bring him back to Bengaluru.
21-year-old Aarav is a native of Thottada in Kannur. He was working as a student councillor in a private firm in Bengaluru. Aarav was in a relationship with the 19-year-old vlogger Maya Gogoi for the last six months. It is suspected that some issues between the two, who met through social media, led to the murder. The accused spent two days with the body at the apartment.
Maya was found dead at the Royal Livings Apartment of Second Stage in Indira Nagar last Tuesday. The body was found lying on the bed. There were injuries on her chest and head. The deep injury on her chest is the cause of death. The police got her mobile phone from the room.
The two took the apartment on November 23. Aarav, who was in the apartment on Sunday and Monday, went out on Tuesday after 8 am. Sensing a foul smell emanating from the room, the employees opened the apartment with a duplicate key and then found her lying dead.
