THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains will continue in Kerala till Wednesday due to the effect of Cyclone Fenjal, which made landfall in Puducherry on Sunday. By Tuesday evening, the cyclone will enter the Arabian Sea as a weak depression and decelerate.

An orange alert has been issued in Kannur and Kasaragod districts for Tuesday. A yellow alert has been issued in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts. Areas under orange alert will receive 115-204.4 mm of rain in 24 hours. No fishing has been allowed on the Kerala coast.

Educational institutions in Thrissur and Kasaragod districts will remain closed on Tuesday due to heavy rains. The holiday applies to Anganwadis, Tuition Centres, and Professional Colleges. Pre-scheduled tests and interviews remain unchanged. The holiday does not apply to residential educational institutions.
