Actor Manikandan Rajan has come forward against the media for using his photo in a news related to amassing wealth. He also shared his concern of losing opportunities due to the false news. The actor came forward through a Facebook video.
'Today's newspaper carried a news about me. The news carried the heading ‘Actor Manikandan arrested’ along with a good photo of mine and making my face clearly visible. When I read it further, I understood that it was not me but some other Manikandan. The issue is black money. Doesn’t that media know me. I have a doubt in that. Anyway, I am doing this video as that has affected me a lot.
I did not hear this news from anyone here. A production controller of the Tamil film I was supposed to do next month called me. I had saved his number and he also saved mine. It is a few days since he called. When he called today, I thought he was calling in connection with the film.
When I picked up the phone, there was no response. When I asked if he was okay, he asked me is it Manikandan? He said he saw the news of my arrest. I came to know about the news from him. They realized that it was not me after the call.
If they had thought of casting someone else, I would have lost one of my opportunities. I don't know how many more opportunities I am going to lose. That is why I made this video to inform people the truth.
Anyway, I will proceed legally. I have not created a bad name in my life for so long. There are also efforts from my side to avoid it. Anyway, I once again bow down and thank the media for creating a bad name very easily and so lightly,’ clarified the actor.
