MUMBAI: The Indian Coast Guard rescued 12 Indians from a merchant vessel that sank in the North Arabian Sea. ICG carried out the rescue operation in a joint operation with Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency.
The vessel MSV AI Piranpir, which was on its way from Porbandar in Gujarat to Bandar Abbas in Iran, met with an accident the other day due to rough seas. The ship sank off the coast of Pakistan. The Coast Guard informed that all the 12 rescued crew members had been brought safely to the Porbandar coast.
ICG said in a statement. "This humanitarian search and rescue mission saw a close collaboration between the Indian Coast Guard and PMSA, with both nations' maritime rescue coordination centres (MRCC) maintaining continuous communication throughout the operation,"
