The postmortem report did not mention whether the internal organs were collected for chemical testing. The postmortem report came after the police affidavit said no mystery in Naveen Babu's death.

Meanwhile, his family came forward alleging that the police affidavit stating that Naveen Babu's brother had given permission for the inquest is wrong. His relative Anil P Nair said that he was not aware of the inquest and had requested the collector to shift the postmortem from Pariyaram Medical College.

The police and the collector contacted the family just before Naveen Babu's postmortem. They were informed that the inquest was over. Anil, who is also a lawyer, clarified that the police's claim that relatives were not needed for the inquest is not true.
