THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The preliminary post-mortem report of the elderly woman, who was killed in Pothencode, has come out. As per the report, the 69-year-old woman was subjected to sexual assault. Injuries were found on her private parts. The cause of death is reported to be a head injury. The elderly woman, who was differently-abled, had engaged in a verbal dispute with the accused Thoufeeq in the morning. She was killed shortly after.

Police received hints about the accused from the CCTV footage obtained from a neighbouring house. Following this, he was immediately taken into custody. Thoufeeq is an accused in several cases, including a POCSO case. The elderly woman's siblings were living in adjacent houses. They said that they did not hear any unusual noise in the morning. The woman's body was found near the house of one of the siblings. It was her sister who first saw the body. Following this, she informed the relatives and the police.

The elderly woman had the habit of plucking flowers for morning prayers. The blouse she wore was torn and her earrings were missing. Her body was found covered with the cloth that she was wearing. Flowers and footwear were found near the body.
