THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Budget airline IndiGo has announced a new domestic flight service from Kerala. There is a service from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Sardar Patel Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. There will be service on Thiruvananthapuram - Ahmedabad route four days a week. The service will start from Friday, December 13.

It has been informed that the flight will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flight will depart from Ahmedabad at 4.25 pm and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 7.05 pm. The same flight will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 7.35 pm and return to Ahmedabad at 9.55 pm. IndiGo's website says that the fare for a ticket from Thiruvananthapuram to Ahmedabad is Rs 7,970 plus taxes and for the return from Ahmedabad to Thiruvananthapuram it is Rs 12,916 plus taxes.

IndiGo is operating direct flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Ahmedabad for the first time. Earlier, a service was operated via connection flight between Bengaluru and Mumbai. The airport authorities shared the hope that starting a direct service to Gujarat, where tourists arrive from Kerala, would benefit the tourism sector.
