PALAKKAD: Death toll rises to four in Panayampadam accident in Mannarkkad. The deceased were eighth grade students of Karimba High School. All four died on the spot. The lorry carrying cement lost control and overturned.
Three dead bodies are in Thachampara ESAF Hospital and one girl's body is in Mannarkkad Mother Care Hospital. The accident happened at half past four. The dead bodies were brought out after half an hour of effort.
Five female students were walking home after the exam. They were buying sweets from the shop. At this time, the lorry carrying cement collided with a car. The lorry that lost control in the collision rushed towards the students.
Seeing this, a girl who was with the group ran to a nearby house and escaped. The lorry has been raised fully. The rescue operation was carried out by the fire force and locals.
