HYDERABAD: Actor Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with the stampede leading to the death of the woman during the release of his film Pushpa 2. He was arrested by the Hyderabad police’ task force team. He was taken into custody from his house in Jubilee Hills. The actor was taken to Chikkadpally police station. A tight security has been arranged in the premises of the station to control the fans of the actor.

Pushpa 2 was released on December 5. Premiere shows were held in many theaters on the previous day. As part of this, Revathi (39), a native of Dil Shuknagar, who had come to watch the premiere show held at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad on Wednesday night, died in the stampede. The stampede occurred when Allu Arjun reached the theater before the show started. Allu Arjun had expressed his condolences on Revathi's death and announced financial assistance of Rs 25 lakhs to the family. He was heartbroken that such an incident had happened. He will soon visit the family members in person. The actor assured all support to the family.
