PATHANAMTHITTA: An alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta as the water level is rising in the Achankovil River. With an orange alert being declared at the Kalleli and Konni GD stations of the State Irrigation Department, people living along the banks of the Achankovil River are advised to exercise caution.

People have been asked not to venture into the rivers or cross the rivers for any reason. People residing along the riverbanks are advised to exercise caution. Those living in areas prone to flooding should relocate as instructed by the authorities.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that isolated areas in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts of Kerala may experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning, along with strong winds with speeds of up to 40 kmph in the next three hours. Additionally, isolated areas in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts may experience light rain.

An orange alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta districts today. Isolated areas in these districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
