THIRUVABABTHAPURAM: Nilambur MLA P V Anvar is making moves to rejoin the Congress party. It is hinted that Anvar is trying to return to his old parent party before the upcoming assembly elections in the state. Anvar reached Delhi and held discussions with senior leaders. It is heard that Anvar has the support of KPCC president K Sudhakaran. There are also reports that Anvar met K C Venugopal and held talks with him.
However, it is hinted that opposition leader V D Satheesan and some other leaders are not interested in taking him back to the Congress. Therefore, their stand will be pivotal. The League leadership is also not in favor of bringing Anvar. However, Congress leaders who welcome Anvar's arrival believe that if the Congress leadership intervenes, the League may soften.
After the DMK rejected Anvar, he held discussions with the Trinamool Congress and the SP. However, he is trying to return to the congress after all that move failed. Independent MLA PV Anvar, who was part of the LDF, was expelled after he criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Left government.
He then formed a party naming Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK). Anvar had tried to show his strength in the recent by-elections. Anvar, who fielded a candidate in Chelakkara, supported the UDF in Palakkad and Wayanad. He fielded former KPCC secretary N K Sudheer as independent candidate. Sudheer garnered about 4,000 votes.
