PATNA: A man was kidnapped in Bihar and forced to marry a woman at gunpoint after getting assaulted. Avnish Kumar, a teacher, was abducted by the woman's relatives on his way to school. It is alleged that Avnish Kumar was in love with the woman named Gunjan and after becoming a teacher he ended the four-year-long relationship. According to the relatives of Gunjan, this is the reason why Avnish Kumar was kidnapped and made to marry her by force. A video of Avnish being forced to marry in a temple has gone viral on social media.

The teacher alleged that he had no love for the girl and that the girl was constantly calling and troubling him. Avnish was abducted by some people in a Scorpio vehicle while he was going to school. It was also said that marriage ceremonies were performed forcibly.

After the marriage, relatives left for Avnish's house with the 'bride', but the teacher escaped. Avnish's parents did not accept the girl even though she came to his house. Following this Gunjan lodged a complaint with the police. Many cases of unmarried youth with government jobs being beaten up and forced into marriage have been reported in North India. The police are investigating whether this incident is one among them.
