PATHANAMTHITTA: The FIR filed in the incident where a bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims collided with a car, killing four of a family, has surfaced. Reports said the accident was caused by rash driving. The tragedy that shook the place happened Sunday morning at Koodal Murinjakal in Konni. The dead were a newlywedded couple Nikhil and Anu and their fathers Mathai Eepan and Biju P George. The bodies of all four have been shifted to Pathanamthitta General Hospital. The funeral will be held after Nikhil's sister arrives from abroad.
Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar has reacted on the incident. His response was that it was a tragic incident. 'The initial conclusion is that the driver dozed off. It is Sabarimala season and each and every one should be careful. If you fall asleep while driving, there should be a culture of continuing journey after a sleep. The accident in Palakkad was also important. Most accidents occur due to negligence.

Anu was immediately taken to Konni Taluk Hospital by the locals, but her life could not be saved.
The bus was carrying with Ayyappa devotees from Andhra Pradesh. Police said the car rammed into the bus. The Maruti Swift car was completely destroyed in the accident. The people in the car were taken out after cutting open the vehicle. Locals initially led the rescue operations. Locals said accidents are quite common in the area.
