BENGALURU: A woman and her relatives were arrested in connection with the suicide of a techie in Bengaluru. 34-year-old Atul Subhash, a techie committed suicide in Bengaluru after leaving a long note blaming his wife and her relatives. Those arrested are Atul’s wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha and her brother Anurag. They were arrested based on the complaint of Atul’s brother.
Nikita was arrested from Gurugram in Haryana and Nisha and Anurag from Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. The accused were produced in the court and all three are presently in judicial custody.
Atul committed suicide after confessing in a video that he was taking the drastic step due to mental stress following the issues in his married life. His suicide note also mentioned serious remarks against his wife and relatives.
His wife's family had demanded Rs 3 crore compensation from Atul, alleging fake dowry harassment. They had also filed a complaint with the police, blaming Atul for the death of his father-in-law. It was later found that to be a fake complaint.
His note said that his wife had demanded Rs 30 lakh to meet their son. His wife even said that he should commit suicide if he cannot pay the amount to which the judge also laughed. This had really hurt him, said his relatives. Nikita, who initially demanded Rs 40,000 per month for her son's expenses, later demanded Rs 1 lakh monthly.
