PATHANAMTHITTA: A youth was knocked down by a car-borne people soon after a fight broke out at Mandamaruthi in Ranni. The dead is Ambady (24) of Chethomkara. Police said the youths engaged into a fight in front of the beverages outlet in Ranni last night and this turned violent later. Soon after this, Ambady was fatally knocked down by a car. The accused have been identified as Ajoy, Aravind and Sreekuttan.

Ranni police is on the search for three more people involved in the incident. Initially, everyone believed that it was an accidental death. However, the police later got statement from eyewitnesses about the fight in front of the beverages outlet. The police later registered a murder case.

The accused are known to Ambady and a late-night probe confirmed murder. After the murder, three youths abandoned the car and fled from the place. Police said what happened is a gang war and the youths who fled the place initially returned in two cars to Mandamaruthi later.

Ambady was seen getting out of one car and the second car was seen knocking him down. They soon fled the place.
