BENGALURU: A police constable committed suicide by jumping before a train in Karnataka. The cop identified as Thippanna Alugur (33) committed suicide following the harassment by his wife and in-laws. The police have recovered his suicide note. Another similar incident comes days after an IT employee committed suicide after being harassed by his wife and in-laws.


Thippanna was a head constable at Hulimavu police station. A native of Vijayapura, he married Parvathy three years ago. Thippanna's suicide note said that after the marriage, his wife and father-in-law Yamunappa had mentally harassed him. The note also said that Yamunappa had threatened him on the phone on December 12. Thippanna and his wife had a fight over this. He later jumped in front of a train in his uniform and committed suicide.


His note said that he is taking his life as he cannot bear the mental harassment and requests his colleagues to collect his bike parked near a lake close to Huskur railway station. The police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Thippanna's mother has filed a complaint with the police against Parvathy and her father.
