KOCHI: ISL club Kerala Blasters sacked head coach Mikael Stahre after the team’s dismal run in the tournament. The other assistants in Stahre’s coaching team will also leave the club. Blasters announced the news through social media.
The final nail in the coffin of Stahre came during Blaster’s last match against Mohun Bagan as the yellow team conceded two goals in injury time, adding to their list of yet another woeful defeat this season.
Blasters are currently in 10th place with 11 points from 12 games in ISL. With over two decades of coaching experience, Stahre has managed around 400 matches in various clubs. His coaching tenure started with Väsby United. In 2009, he became the head coach of the Swedish club AIK.
