Over the years, some revelations made by actresses in mollywood resulted in huge outcries. It was through online interviews that these actresses often tremblingly remembered the hurdles and ill dealings they had to suffer in the industry. Years ago, actress Muktha revealed her opinion in an online interview which oddly now, is going viral on social media.
Muktha:
‘Upon my entry into films, many called me junior Nayanthara. It was kind of a laurel to me since liked her very much. But some gossip that came late also affected me badly.
Adjustments prevail in every industry. It was a way of sustenance for female actors. During those times, my mother was very scared since people talked ill of film actors and spread fiction. I came into the cinema because of my compulsion. Whenever an opportunity came my way, my mother would jump and enquire if it had any glamorous scenes. She made it strict for me to not act in such scenes. Had my mother known, I would not have been able to act in Vishal's ‘Thaamirabharani’.
For most actresses, it is impossible to survive in the industry without doing glamorous roles. I received many flaks for my costume in the song sequence of ‘Thaamirabharani’. But I felt no guilt. On another note, I worked hard for ‘Achanuragantha Veedu’ and expected an award for my work. But nothing came my way. But interestingly, people started appreciating me for ‘Thaamirabharani’ and I got massively popular in Tamil Nadu. Actresses need to make ‘adjustments’ in the cine field. It is the unstated rule. If I would have complied with such demands, more roles would have come my way.”
