THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Crime Branch will conduct an investigation into the leak of SSLC and Plus One Christmas exam question papers through a private online tuition platform's YouTube channel. A preliminary inquiry will be conducted under the leadership of Kozhikode Crime Branch SP KK Moideenkutty. Based on this report, a case will be registered, Crime Branch chief H Venkatesh told Kerala Kaumudi. The investigation will focus on identifying the source of the leaks, the individuals responsible, and any financial transactions involved. The Crime Branch chief will oversee the inquiry. The action was initiated following a complaint lodged directly with the DGP by the Director of Public Education and subsequent requests made by Minister V Sivankutty, who met with the Chief Minister and contacted the DGP by phone.

The English question paper of SSLC and the Mathematics question paper of the Plus One for the Christmas exams were leaked through a YouTube Live video session of the tuition platform. A teacher gave the questions to the students by coming live on the platform the day before the exam, claiming that the questions got leaked and these questions would definitely come for the exam the next day. Although the question papers were not directly shown on the channel, the live session accurately outlined the order of the questions. Students even asked the teacher for answers to several of these questions during the session. The leak was exposed by teachers who noticed the similarity when they saw the question papers the next day. Subsequently, Kozhikode Deputy Director of Education C. Manojkumar filed a police complaint. As the controversy escalated, the Director of Public Education also lodged complaints with the DGP and the Cyber Cell. The DGP then handed over the complaint to the Crime Branch for further investigation. Shuhaib, the CEO and founder of MS Solutions in Koduvally, stated that the organization would cooperate with the investigation but refrained from making any public comments on the issue.
